Through light, reflection and refraction, this elemental artwork serves as a connection point open to all practices of faith, spirituality, and relationships with the universe. It evokes personal meaning and contemplation, and accentuates a space for connection, optimism and hope among the chapel community. Installed in the chapel at Boston Children’s Hospital, the artwork is composed of a billowing cascade of individual transparent pendants suspended from the ceiling. Dichroic film is applied to a single side of each pendant allowing the sculpture to refract natural sunlight each day through the Chapel’s windows. Programmed artificial light accentuates their color and illuminates the cloud of pendants at night. The programmed lighting is based off of the four seasons of the Northern Hemisphere, recognizing the natural cycles of light through color and expression. The color palette changes at each equinox and solstice moment, allowing the artwork and space to be in synchronicity to the cycles and light of the cosmic world.

The artwork was fabricated and installed in collaboration with Jaywalk Studio.
