transdisciplinary artist collective reconsidering environments through site-specific installations using sound, light, interactivity, and performance.
WHO WE ARE
MASARY is a Boston-based, artist‑owned collective founded in 2015. We’re a transdisciplinary studio reimagining environments through immersive, site-specific installations that blend sound, light, interactivity, and performance. From percussion-driven live shows and electronic music production to projection‑mapped animation and material fabrication, our work merges artistic research with cutting‑edge media art practices.
HOW WE WORK
We treat each location and partner as material to the artwork. We dive deep into a site canvas through cultural history, everyday use, and community essence, uncovering its hidden stories and shapes. These insights become the seeds for sonic and visual motivators, weaving together a cohesive narrative informed by rigorus concept. Our process spans traditional venues (theaters, galleries) and unconventional spaces alike, manifesting in unexpected ways.
WHAT WE CREATE
Media installations and performances that spark wonder, ignite connection, and transform spaces into living art. Our pieces ignite presence, provoke exploration, and spark connection. We build layered, sensory-rich experiences for gathering, activation, and inquiry. Whether activating public squares or theater halls, our work transforms place into purpose and audience into participant—leaving space for the community to complete the work and inspiring fresh connections to site.
