Arcus Stellarum
Arcus Stellarum
A living cosmic meditation, blending projection, light, and sound.
Rooted in metaphors of humanity as stardust, it invites reflection on life and transformation while evoking the vast cycles of stars and the universe. Arcus Stellarum roughly traces a life cycle of a star through seven different periods from a cloud of stardust through the birth of the star, into maturity and old age, before culminating in a supernova and black hole, before beginning anew. Absorbing and atmospheric, the work unfolds slowly, encouraging wandering, patience, and contemplation within an environment alive with cosmic wonder.
The artwork is a part of a collection of work that has been created for the annual event SOLSTICE: Reflections on Winter Light at Mount Auburn Cemetery.
